Delivery overview

Growwaas primarily supplies products for business use. Orders may be delivered to restaurants, cafés, catering premises, fast-food businesses, cloud kitchens and other agreed commercial locations.

The delivery arrangements available to a Customer may depend on factors including:

  • delivery postcode;
  • available delivery routes;
  • order size;
  • products ordered;
  • frequency of ordering;
  • vehicle access;
  • business opening hours; and
  • any commercial arrangement agreed with Growwaas.
Shipping vs delivery Although this page is called Shipping & Delivery, fresh produce is generally supplied through an appropriate business-delivery arrangement rather than treated like an ordinary parcel shipment.

Delivery charges

Delivery charges, minimum order requirements or other delivery conditions may apply depending on the location and commercial arrangement.

Where applicable, these will be communicated during the ordering, quotation or account process.

03

Delivery schedules and times

Available delivery days and routes may vary according to your location and your arrangement with Growwaas.

Where a delivery date or approximate time is provided, it should normally be treated as an estimate unless Growwaas has expressly agreed a specific guaranteed arrangement in writing.

Order cut-off times

Any applicable cut-off time will depend on the products, delivery route and ordering arrangement available to your business.

Customers should follow the cut-off communicated through their account, quotation, ordering process or directly by Growwaas.

Changes to regular schedules

Delivery schedules may occasionally need to change, including around public holidays, unusual market conditions, road restrictions or other operational circumstances.

Where reasonably practicable, we will communicate material changes affecting an expected delivery.

04

Delivery addresses and access

Customers are responsible for giving Growwaas a complete and accurate delivery address.

Please also tell us about any information a driver may reasonably need to complete the delivery.

01

Opening hours

Tell us when your premises can receive deliveries.

02

Loading access

Tell us about gates, loading bays or vehicle restrictions.

03

Security

Provide relevant entry codes or site procedures where appropriate.

04

Contact person

Keep the appropriate delivery contact and telephone details up to date.

Safe access

The Customer must provide reasonably safe and suitable access to the agreed delivery point.

Our drivers should not be required to enter a location or perform a delivery where doing so would create an unreasonable safety or security risk.

Changing your delivery address

Please notify us as early as possible if an order needs to be delivered to a different address.

We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once routing, picking, packing or dispatch has begun.

05

Receiving your delivery

Where reasonably possible, an authorised person should be available at the delivery location to receive the order.

We recommend checking:

  • the products delivered;
  • quantities;
  • obvious damage;
  • visible product condition;
  • packaging where applicable; and
  • any important specification agreed for the order.
01

Receive

Make sure someone can access and receive the delivery where required.

02

Check

Check products and quantities promptly.

03

Store

Move fresh produce into appropriate storage.

04

Report

Tell us promptly if something is wrong.

Proof of delivery

Depending on the delivery method used, reasonable evidence of delivery may include a signed delivery record, electronic proof of delivery, photograph, delivery-system record, GPS information or other appropriate evidence.

06

Unattended deliveries

An unattended delivery means that Growwaas leaves an order at an agreed location when nobody from the Customer's business is present to receive it.

Unattended deliveries should only take place where they have been agreed in advance.

Your delivery point

The Customer must provide a location that is:

  • reasonably secure;
  • suitable for receiving the products;
  • safely accessible to the delivery driver; and
  • clearly communicated to Growwaas.
Fresh produce needs prompt attention. Once an unattended delivery has been completed at the agreed location, the Customer is responsible for collecting the products promptly and moving them into appropriate storage.

A photograph, electronic delivery record or other appropriate evidence may be used to confirm an unattended delivery.

07

Failed or refused deliveries

A delivery may be unsuccessful where, for example:

  • the address supplied is incorrect;
  • the premises cannot be accessed;
  • the business is closed;
  • required access information was not provided;
  • there is no suitable person available to receive the order where required;
  • the Customer refuses the delivery without an agreed reason; or
  • the delivery location presents an unreasonable safety risk.

What happens next?

Depending on the circumstances and the condition of the products, we may:

  • attempt to contact the Customer;
  • return the goods;
  • arrange a redelivery;
  • dispose of highly perishable goods where necessary; or
  • take another reasonable step.

Where an unsuccessful delivery is caused by a matter within the Customer's control, Growwaas may charge reasonable additional transport, handling, redelivery or wastage costs where applicable.

Keep your delivery details current. Accurate opening hours, telephone numbers, addresses and access instructions can prevent most avoidable failed deliveries.
08

Delivery delays and disruption

Fresh-produce delivery can occasionally be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

These may include:

  • serious traffic disruption;
  • road closures;
  • vehicle breakdown;
  • extreme weather;
  • flooding or snow;
  • supplier delays;
  • crop shortages;
  • market shortages;
  • industrial action;
  • border or import disruption;
  • government restrictions;
  • major IT or communications failures; or
  • other events outside our reasonable control.

If a material delay affects your order, we will make reasonable efforts to manage the situation and communicate relevant information where practicable.

Estimated delivery times

Unless Growwaas expressly agrees otherwise in writing, delivery dates and times are estimates rather than guaranteed appointment times.

This is particularly important for route-based fresh-produce delivery, where road and operational conditions can affect arrival times.

09

Shortages, incorrect goods and damage

Please inspect the delivery promptly and tell us as soon as reasonably possible if:

  • a product is missing;
  • the quantity is incorrect;
  • the wrong product has been supplied;
  • goods have visible damage; or
  • there is a fresh-produce quality concern.

Fresh-produce quality concerns

In line with our Returns & Exchanges Policy, fresh-produce quality concerns should normally be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

Where possible, please keep the affected product and provide:

  • your business name;
  • order or invoice number;
  • the affected product;
  • quantity affected;
  • a description of the problem; and
  • photographs where appropriate.

Full information about claims, replacements, credits and refunds is available in our Returns & Exchanges Policy .

10

Fresh produce after delivery

Once delivery has been completed, the Customer is responsible for moving products into appropriate storage and handling them correctly.

Depending on the product, this may involve:

  • appropriate refrigeration;
  • temperature control;
  • dry storage;
  • ventilation;
  • avoiding contamination;
  • appropriate stock rotation; and
  • following applicable product or food-safety instructions.
Do not leave fresh produce unattended unnecessarily. Delays in moving products from a delivery point into appropriate storage can affect quality, shelf life and food safety.

Growwaas may be unable to accept responsibility for deterioration caused after delivery by unsuitable storage, temperature control, contamination or improper handling.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Order availability and substitutions

Fresh produce is affected by seasonality, crop conditions, weather and market availability.

If an ordered product becomes unavailable before delivery, Growwaas may contact you about an appropriate alternative where one is available.

If a particular variety, origin, size, grade or specification must not be substituted, please tell us when placing the order.

Partial deliveries

In some circumstances an order may be supplied in more than one delivery or an unavailable item may be omitted from an otherwise deliverable order.

Any relevant pricing, credit or further supply arrangements will be handled appropriately for the affected product.

Collections

If Growwaas agrees that an order can be collected rather than delivered, collection arrangements must be confirmed with our team in advance.

Customers collecting perishable goods are responsible for having appropriate transport, handling and temperature-control arrangements after collection.
